God has blessed me with a few people who I count as my best friends. Not many have I ever felt were really close. This(funny looking) person is one of them. Five years in the country of Belarus and when I left it was the hardest thing I ever had to do. I left some very close friends.

Because of the distance between myself and those friends in Belarus, I can understand how the Apostle Paul said that he longed for heaven. Life sometimes separates us but then we are one in Christ and someday there will be no distance between friends.

Life has made me distance myself farther than I ever dreamed I would be from some of these people, but I know that the moment I need them they are there for me.

I know this is not the post you have all been waiting for. You have been waiting for my great political whit to kick in. I have been sick for going into 2 weeks now. Very tired, dizzy, and a little nauseas. Getting some tests done to see what it might be. Have a CAT scan on Friday and if that doesn't find anything I will have to get the nasty one done.

I do have something to say about politics. If GW goes through with some of the things that are being reported, I will not be a happy Republican.

I believe the government needs to stay out of our lives. Health care is not a right. The federal government shouldn't be in control of our retirement and our health care.

We UNFORTUNATELY went and saw Happy Feet. Started off really slow then got kind of exciting in the middle and just when you saw it start to become an OK movie it turned into some kind of political CRAP. I don't use that word often however this occasion requires strong language.

I call it a "Hollywood celebrity love fest for no good reason". One message is that even if the great penguin in the sky says something should be a certain way and that is the way we have always been that we shouldn't care about being born different. You can apply that many different ways but I think it was pretty clear.

Second the message was that by fishing we are destroying the penguins habitat. Now, be careful here. We do need to be cautious that we don't upset the ecosystem in any place so much that the animals that live there all die off. However, if the earth has been here millions or billions of years and they still aren't dead, either they are strong enough to make it or they just haven't been eliminated by a more dominant species.

Thirdly, and probably the most disturbing, was the message that the UN could do something useful. Of all the organizations, that it the least useful of all. If you want to get something done that is useful you should contact the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, or maybe some other charity that actually really cares about people. They should take all the money from the film, and each of the actors should take the millions they got from the film and give it to charity. Then maybe I would listen. Maybe...

Please don't further the cause by seeing the movie. It is not worth it.

Some people have come to look into the issue of stem cell research and have honestly looked at the issue and come to the right conclusion. They have come to see that there is not hidden agenda with those who think that we should only do adult stem cell research. The facts are that those on the other side trying to do embryonic stem cell research are in fact trying to do cloning. To date all those mysterious cures that they will supposedly find with embryonic stem cells have not been found.

Here is the reason why they will never find anything good through the destruction of life. God created us!! We are not the product of evolution. If we were then I would support embryonic stem cell research. I would also propose that we each follow our own animal instincts and live out our feelings to the best of our abilities. If we are only animals then it should be "survival of the fittest".

The good done by adult stem cell research is un-avoidable!! Honestly look at the issue and stop basing your opinion off of what other people say.

I am severely sick of "Global Warming". In the past few weeks I guess because of the elections global warming has gotten worse. It seems that politicians talking causes global warming

What is even worse is the fact that it is nature itself that is causing global warming. First we find out that cow poop causes green house gases which cause global warming. Then we are told we need to plant trees but then I read you shouldn't plant certain trees because they will increase global warming.

I propose that God put the earth here and He put it here to last till he wants it too. I guess that it should be able to take care of itself. Besides, shouldn't we just let evolution take it's course?? I thought that was what all this is about. Natural selection and all that.

Maybe someday we'll look like the guy in the picture. Who knows??

I always knew that the media wanted the Republicans out of control but I didn't know they were so blatant about it. I was in the car listening to Imus in the Morning and Imus was interviewing Norah O'Donell from MSNBC and she basically in short said that the news media would spin stories about the war to help the Democrats gain control of the Congress. She said it so casually I was shocked. Of course Don Imus who rarely even cares enough to listen to his own guests didn't catch a thing. To his credit Don Imas and his wife are involved in a lot of good things and do a lot good for others. Don Imas just doesn't really care about the political side of things that much.

I finally got sick of mold in the bathtub. Over the weekend I tore into this and got some stuff done. Spent several days figuring out how to fix my cold water valve. After getting no help from the experts at the local hardware store I went to Home Depot and found I was missing a little rubber thing that makes the whole faucet assembly work. I will post some more pics tomorrow of the transformation as I tore the floor out last night and put downs some nice smelling plywood instead of stinky carpet.

We were at a Vermont Laker monsters game and the people were selling tickets to help support a Vermont charity. I couldn't believe my ears when the man said "support your local chapter of the ACLU" They must be really hard up for money if they are selling raffle tickets. I told the guy that if he kept telling people who the money went to that they wouldn't buy them. His response was that they support our right to privacy. Yeah right!!

A couple days ago some druggy whacked out person went into a gay bar and shot it up. The man, I believe ended up killing his girlfriend and was himself shot by the police. This man had a very troubled past and has a pretty sorry history. The media labeled it a hate crime immediately.

On the other hand a total of 9 churches both black and white congregations have been burnt to a crisp in the past couple of days. A total of 59 Churches have been burnt to the ground in the past 5 years. They suspect arson.

Good evening. The state of the Union has never been worse. I have done a horrible job. I lied about the war. We shouldn't be there in Iraq. I have killed 2000 innocent American soldiers and should be executed for such an atrocity. I am sorry my economic policies allowing trees to be cut down and for emissions on cars to be cut in half have caused hurricane Katrina. I am sorry that I even tried to give them any money because my administration is incompetent and cannot handle dispersing the money. I should have given it to the New Orleans Mardi Gras organizers, they would have done a better job. I am so sorry that I have cut taxes and caused so many welfare people to have to work. It must be stressful. I am sorry I didn't appoint the people that the democrats wanted to the Supreme court so they could re-write the constitution. I am sorry I didn't just quit when I found out that I won the popular vote but the Democrats say I stole the election and as a man of honor I should have stepped down at the very thought.

I am sorry I am alive but I have good news for you all. I am not going to run for president again!!! Republicans suck, GW is a shmuck. Kennedy, Boxer, and Biden should run the country. Bye!!!

I just saw a clip of The VT AG on the O'Reily Thing. William Surrel was very pathetic. Bill said that he lacked a sense of urgency and passion about the issue of the short sentence for this child molester. The AG kept trying to defend VT and said we have great environmental policies and are one of the safest states in the US and welcome all who want to visit.

What kind of trash was that?? As if him being on the O'Reily show is some kind of promotional stunt for VT. He should have been more on fire about doing something about this judge. Apparently our representatives here canned the idea of reviewing this judge. I guess I will have to make some phone calls.

The AG also compared people who would protest this thing to people exercising vigilante justice. Ridiculousness!

We went to see the Vermont Expos last night on IBM's tab. They had a family night. We got free tickets plus each of us go a hot dog and soft drink. Expos lost to the Tigers(Canadian team) 2-7. Uneventfull game overall.

The event did remind me of why I never played sports. People's attitudes fluxuate so fast. One moment a player is their hero the next he is their worst enemy when he makes a mistake.

The hypocricy of political "morality"

I am getting sick of poloticians who cater to those of us who want moral laws to be upheld and some standard of decency upheld in our society constantly disregard all sense of desency and run their mouths. It used to be socially and morally unacceptable to use foul language in public places. To say the least it was rude. We all know that the VP of the united states used some pretty foul language and just recently the governor of Texas used some pretty foul language towards a reporter. This is unacceptable. How are our children supposed to grow up knowing how to act appropriately. Will we go back to the days of old in business where it was acceptable to act like idiots. At IBM meeting used to be swear festivals. The worse you could swear the better you were.

What ever happened to being civil, whatever happened to controlling the anger you have instead of speaking your mind. The book of Proverbs says that a fool speaks what his mind says but a wise man holds his toungue. I am particularly disgusted at members of my own party who lower themselves down to the standard that they put their counterparts at. If you are not genuine in your morality then don't act like you are just to get votes. You are selfish and extremely shortsighted. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAArrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!

I may be a prophet but I think that the Democratic party is going to see terrible backlash from Dean's comment. Dean has shown before that he is seriously out of touch with the American people. The media doesn't constitute the American people. The reason the Republican party may be listening to Christians is the fact that they found out that we vote. People who care vote. If you are being elected by Christians and the concensus is that we want to stick the the values that we have held through the years, then what is the problem?? According to some studies over 80% of Americans call themselves Christians and close to 50% of those people attend Church during the year. I think that Dean is right that the Democratic party has become the party for all the other people. All the other people don't represent America as a whole.

Congress and their "services to the people"

Recently I read an article on how congress had been caving in to right wing conservative groups. Being a right wing conservative I resent that. Apparently according to the latest election the majority of Americans are more conservative than the media would like you to think. Our downfall as a whole is that we have tried to think the best of poloticians and therefore lots of people didn't vote because they didn't think that they needed to. Now years later Congress and the courts have decided to take on the deeper issues of morality. This now becomes difficult because we have been teaching evolution in our schools for a couple decades now. The Bible has been forced out of public schools. In Vermont where I live, and I believe in many other states the Bible originally was the only textbook. As an educator you are only allowed to share your belief if it coincides with the administration of the school. The media and Hollywood has run unchecked for decades.

The result of all this is that we have a very skewed view of morality, God's involvment in our lives, and in general a very twisted view of what free speech means. To offend used to mean that we didn't use what everyone considered to foul language in public places. Now even the most "vulgar" language is flowing freely in every public place. It makes me think that we maybe are in some kind of regressive evolution or something. Humans are getting stupider.

How can our society and especially our government deem themselves worthy to be the judge over these moral issues. When you take away any basis for morality there becomes nothing immoral. When you open that can of worms, please tell me, where do you stop? Honestly, there is no stopping place. Sin is very regressive, the more you sin the deeper you must delve into sin if you don't check yourself. That is exactly where we are going. I know it and you, you know who you are, know it. I have(and still have) sin in my life. I have let it run rampant before and the end of it was more pain, until I made it right. If I allow my sins now to overcome me then I will be pulled deeper and deeper into sin.

My point in this rant is that the government should leave the deeper issues alone. The people have spoken their will and will continue to do so. Contrary to public opinion we live in a republic, a society governed by the rule of law. Lately we have been something else. Judges seem to know better than we do what law should be. Get this, a Nebraska Judge OVERTURNED A CONSTITUTIONAL AMMENDMENT!!! How on earth can one man be allowed to make that decision. The Constitution is supposed to be the highest law and the judges are supposed to interpret it. Gay are not given special priveleges in the constitution. If we look back to when all the constitutions were written we would find that the society then would definitely have never put any rights for them in the Constitution. I know here in Vermont that is true. 100 years ago the law wasn't very friendly to them.

We are allowing people with no standards to apply their own standards to their decisions. They need to look at the laws and base their decision soley off the laws. Not personal opinion.

The American people want Bush's nominees to have an up or down vote. Obviously we didn't want John Kerry putting his people in there or we would have voted him in. Thank you for your attention if you have made it to the end of this post.

Personal Stuff

Yes I am finally buying a house. It is a nice old house in a certain place. I am going to inspect it again this weekend and will have pictures of it to post. It is currently a 3 unit home. I will be turning it into a 4 unit home. My family and I will have someplace to stay when we go to Rutland other than my inlaws house. No more smoke filled rooms and smoke saturated clothing!!!
Hopefully my younger brother will be renting for a really good deal, a small closet to place himself in. I'll let him use the shower on a monthly basis.

Higher powers willing I will be closing on August 1, 2005. The partying will then begin!! Hope the tenents don't mind.

Don't misunderstand me after this post. I believe that preachers, elders, pastors and other Church leaders need to speak out on moral issues and encourage congregations to vote in elections.

As the debate has turned some and now they are talking about changing the laws to allow preachers to talk about politics from the pulpit my thinking has changed. At first I was like, yes they should be able to talk about specific people, then as I have learned and observed, my mind has changed.

The only reason Republicans, of which I am one, want the change is because the politicians have realized that at this point it will benefit them. Winds of change blow by and it will benefit the other party. This also puts the power in the hands of a religious leader to manipulate un-educated(about politics), un-informed people.

Our system is supposed to work by people becoming educated about what the candidates believe, their convictions and their goals. It needs to stay that way. Like it or not people are sometimes blind followers.

Another simpler explanation is the fact that the law has been working well up till this time. LEAVE IT ALONE!! A change would bring about another change and before you know it Churches and other non-profits would not be tax-exempt. This would be devastating to our country.

First of all no offense is meant by this post to any person from any race. However if you are honest you will agree with me. This article to me shows that we are treating terrorism like the Emporer Who Wore No Clothes.

The peole who have done most(not all) have been middle eastern men. Would it not make sense to show them a little more attention than others? I don't mind being pulled out of a line to be searched and scritinized, but use some common sense here.

We just had one of our own soldiers who was a muslim kill people from his own company because they might kill some of his "muslim brothers". Surprise, Surprise he had a middle eastern name and is from middle eastern descent.

Human beings tend to try to defend themselves. We know what happened when we were fighting the Japanese. Crimes against them rose rapidly. This is not right. In my opinion any crime against any person no matter what the motivation deserves the same punishment and it should be harsh. I am talking about the people who would commit any crime against a middle eastern person, gay person, black person, white person, male, or female.

My point is that we know where the bulk of the attention should be applied yet we ignore it.

She is absolutely right of course. If this were a civil rights movement it would not fail. Right now they are losing. A number of states have passes Gay Marriage Bans. It irks me to no end that there is not a discussion of whether or not this is a civil rights issue. The language has been adopted and people assume that it is. They listen to the rhetoric of one side and don't look any further. No study, from an un-biased group, has shown "being gay" to be a natural thing. We know it isn't because: 1st the Bible tells us it isn't, 2nd If it were natural you could not come out of the lifestyle. I could go on but you get my point. If we are to be honest and make good laws then we need to see if there is a need for it. If "gay" people were not born the way they are then this isn't a civil rights issue. Let's put that on the table.

I couldn't keep quiet any longer so I had to start doing this stuff. Check out the article Doubting Darwin - Newsweek I just can't believe the ignorance in this article. First of all I.D. has been the accepted "theory" for a very long time you didn't have to teach it. It was taught long before Darwin and will last till God comes back. I.D. is not new! A person who reads this article in ignorance would think this is a new controversy, this is exactly what they want you to think. The average un-educated, un-informed shmuck will believe this.
